Dear Members,
Thank you all for the wonderful opportunity to serve as your Trustee over the past six years. It has been an honor to work with our board and see our profession grow and make a real impact, both here in Maryland and across the ASLA community.
This year, we celebrated World Landscape Architecture Month in April, a meaningful occasion as ASLA marked its 125th anniversary—a major milestone for our field. It has been a busy and rewarding year, with the recent ASLA 2024 Conference in Washington, D.C., the Biodiversity & Climate Action Webinar Series, the Awards Gala, the legacy project, TCLF What's Out There Baltimore weekend, and many other exciting events which brought new insights to our work. Your participation in these events helped showcase the significance of landscape architecture.
Thank you again for your support and involvement. Your commitment to the profession is what makes our chapter strong.
As I move on to a new role I welcome Dr. David Myers, ASLA as the new Trustee of the Chapter. A Past President of MDASLA, Past President of CELA, a teacher, and a passionate advocate of the profession, I am confident that David will be a wonderful Trustee of the Chapter.
If you’d like to stay engaged or get more involved, please reach out to the Chapter leadership—we welcome everyone interested in helping shape the future of our profession.
Warm regards,
Om Khurjekar, PLA, ASLA, LEED AP BD+C Trustee, MDASLA
