Maryland-Potomac ASLA Mentorship Program

The Maryland–Potomac ASLA Mentorship Program connects university students with practicing landscape architects to foster meaningful, one-on-one relationships. This program is designed to help students prepare for their professional careers while giving mentors the opportunity to share knowledge, develop leadership skills, and give back to the profession.

For Mentors (Professionals)

Mentors have the opportunity to:

  • Connect one-on-one with a local university student

  • Engage with emerging talent entering the field

  • Share insights to inspire the next generation

  • Strengthen leadership skills

  • Give back to the landscape architecture profession

Mentors are matched with students based on shared backgrounds and interests and receive a program outline to help guide expectations and frame their mentorship journey.

Mentor registration deadline: Friday, September 4, 2026

For Mentees (Students)

Mentee applications will open September 8, 2026.

By completing the questionnaire, students provide valuable information that helps us match them with a suitable mentor. Once a match is made, students will receive an email with details. The structure and goals of the mentorship will ultimately depend on the preferences and collaboration between you and your mentor.

For more information on program goals, schedule, and responsibilities, please review the Mentorship Program Outline linked below.
