COVID-19 In-Person Event Policy

In response to the COVID-19 Delta Variant, The Center For Architecture & Design guidelines for events will evolve to serve the health, safety, and welfare of all participants.

By registering for events, all attendees agree to comply with all policies. Our current policies are as follows:

  • Show Proof of Vaccination Against COVID-19: Proof of vaccination is required for all MDASLA in-person programs. Proof of vaccination may include a photo of your vaccine card/vaccination record or a paper copy of your vaccine card, as well as a photo ID. Please bring these items to event check in on your phone, or as paper copies.

  • For those who are not vaccinated for health or religious reasons, proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours before the event will be required. The test must have a timestamp that can be verified.

  • Wear a Mask

  • Masks are required to be worn at all times at AIA Baltimore and BAF events, except when actively eating or drinking.

Food and Drink

When circumstances allow, food and drink will be served outdoors. Every effort with food service will be made to minimize group contact.

Social Distancing

Attendees should practice social distancing at all events.

  • Please be courteous and aware of other attendees' personal space and their wishes to engage socially or not. Networking events will have color-coded stickers for your name tag to indicate your comfort level with being approached by others. Green= I'm comfortable with social interaction at a distance, Yellow= I'm feeling cautious socially, Orange= I prefer not to be approached socially

Illness, Symptoms or Exposure to COVID

Please stay home if you are currently experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have had symptoms within the past two weeks without a negative COVID-19 test, or have been recently exposed to a known case.

Event Waiver: Attendee understands that participation in an The Center For Architecture & Design Event is entirely voluntary and requires attendees to abide by any applicable rules of conduct or local or state laws that may be announced at any time. In consideration of the right to attend an Event, Attendee assumes all risks and accepts sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending The Center For Architecture & Design Event. While The Center For Architecture & Design is the convener of the meeting, Attendee understands and acknowledges that The Center For Architecture & Design has no direct control over and is not responsible for the acts or omissions of any meeting venue personnel or others involved in producing this event, or any other attendees at the meeting. Attendee has carefully considered the risk involved and hereby releases, covenants not to sue, discharges, and holds harmless The Center For Architecture & Design, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives, of and from any such claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or relating thereto.

Specifically relating to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the attendee acknowledges the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk of exposure or infection by attending The Center For Architecture & Design Event, and understands that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, disability, and/or death to attendee. Attendee understands that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at The Center For Architecture & Design Event may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of others who may attend The Center For Architecture & Design Event or their families, colleagues, or others with whom they may have contact. Accordingly, attendee understands and agrees that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of MDASLA, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in an The Center For Architecture & Design Event.

In addition to all other rules and regulations relating to the attendee’s attendance, attendee agrees to comply with all COVID-related procedures that may be implemented by The Center For Architecture & Designand Event Venue, including, but not limited to, vaccine, mask-wearing, and social distancing requirements, and restrictions on certain activities that carry higher COVID-related risk, in order to protect as much as possible the health and safety of all The Center For Architecture & Design event attendees.

By completion and submission of the Eventbrite registration form, I certify that I have read and fully understand this Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk agreement and understand that it affects my legal rights. I agree and acknowledge that this waiver and release (1) shall be binding on me, my heirs, family, estate, representatives, and assigns and (2) is intended to be as broad as permitted under applicable law, and each waiver or provision herein is severable and shall apply notwithstanding the invalidation of any other provision herein.
