Hi Everyone,
I'm Michael Pullano, President of the ASLA Maryland Chapter, and as the year comes to a close, I'd like to take a moment to give thanks, reflect, and look ahead to 2025.
First off, a very special thank you to our Circle of Support and our chapter's annual sponsors, especially Landscape Forms, Victor Stanley, and Sparks at Play. Thank you for your commitment to our mission, and we look forward to partnering with you again next year.
I'd also like to recognize the behind-the-scenes work of our staff at AIA Baltimore. From managing our communications, events, and daily operations, they are the reason why our leadership and volunteers can focus on our mission and serving you, our members. So thank you to our Executive Director, Lauren Bostic Hill, and to our entire team for keeping us running smoothly.

As we reflect on the year, you may be asking yourself, "What does ASLA do for me?" If you are, I highly encourage you to check out the latest edition of EMBARK. EMBARK is our chapter's annual publication, which will give you a glimpse into all the activities we've been involved with over the year, as well as highlighting our 2024 Awards of Excellence. Please check it out today!
Did you know it costs nearly $3,000 to become a licensed landscape architect in the state of Maryland? We believe this poses a significant barrier to aspiring landscape architects, and I'm proud to say we've recently introduced the LARE Support Fund. This fund is designed to help aspiring young professionals overcome the financial barriers of licensure.

At the holiday party, we raised over $400, and we're looking forward to increasing that number over the coming weeks. Please consider donating today, especially during this season of giving—every little bit counts!
It was so great to see so many of you at the holiday party last week, and I look forward to seeing you again soon in 2025. I wish you a joyful holiday season and a very happy new year.

Thank you!
Michael Pullano, PLA, ASLA
