Job Shadow Week

Maryland ASLA is excited to announce that the 2026 Job Shadow Week will take place from Monday, March 2 through Friday, March 6, at participating firms and agencies throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Job Shadow Week offers landscape architecture students from the University of Maryland and Morgan State University the opportunity to visit a firm or agency aligned with their interests.

Firm + Agency Registration: Wednesday, January 14 – Friday, January 30

Firms and agencies interested in participating may register by completing this form. Participants are asked to indicate their availability and commit to hosting one or more students for a minimum of four hours on one of their selected dates. We encourage hosts to plan a meaningful “day-in-the-life” experience, which may include activities such as an office tour, discussions with staff about current or past projects, design charrettes, site visits, lunch, and opportunities to share insights into design processes and tools.

Student Pairings

Following the registration period, Maryland ASLA will match students with participating firms or agencies based on mutual interests and availability. Hosts and students will be introduced via email in mid to late February.
