We are hiring a Landscape Architect to work in our Towson, MD or Rockville, MD office. Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual design and story boards

  • Prepare studies and reports

  • Organize field investigation and reporting on integrated roadside vegetation management, forest mitigation, stream restoration, critical area mitigation, wetland mitigation, and storm water management facilities.

  • Develop concepts for park master plans

  • Design and detail projects for constructability including site plans, plaza, streetscapes, K-12, Higher Education, integrated stormwater management and transportation projects.

  • Review and provide professional landscape architectural guidance and direction to project team. Provide expertise to address neighborhood conservation and urban reconstruction design strategies, pedestrian accessibility for ADA compliance, hiker/biker trails and greenways, aesthetic review and approvals for hardscape structural elements, public safety landscape plantings, traffic calming techniques, lighting, and other features of the built and natural environment to solve complex design issues.

  • Facilitate community and client engagement in person and virtual meetings.

  • Prepare cost estimates and construction budgets

  • Prepare project specifications and special provisions

  • Conduct project site visits to verify construction activities, gather data, coordinate with project team, and to inspect materials.

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary in-house project teams of civil engineers, planners, transportation engineers, water resource engineers, surveyors, and construction inspection specialists.

  • Prepare visually appealing and informative graphics as part of project communications and proposal and marketing pursuits

  • Utilize AutoCAD, Microstation, and GIS software and file sharing technologies.

  • Manage work of junior staff and project documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university

  • Landscape Architect license

  • 6-8 years’ experience in landscape architecture

  • Experience with VA, MD and surrounding states guidelines for planting requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Land F/X

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Lumion

  • Proficiency in Sketch-Up, Revit or other 3D modelling software

  • Experience with ArcGIS

  • Familiarity with bicycle, pedestrian, and trail design guidelines and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed in MD, DC, or VA

  • ISA Certified

  • Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP)

  • Experience in Microstation

  • Experience with ProjectWise

  • Experience in irrigation Design

  • Experience with MasterSpec

  • Skilled in hand graphic and quick ideation sketches

  • Active in local professional organizations and agencies
