Baltimore, Maryland – April 1, 2026

The Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (MDASLA) is pleased to announce Shujing Yi as the recipient of the 2026 L.A.R.E. Support Fund, awarded in the amount of $1,285 to support Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.) and licensure-related expenses.

Shujing Yi is a Landscape Designer at Jonathan Ceci Landscape Architects in Baltimore, Maryland, and is currently preparing to take Sections 1 and 2 of the L.A.R.E. She was selected through a competitive, anonymized review process for her strong commitment to licensure and her clear vision for advancing resilient, equitable, and community-centered landscapes across Maryland.

“Professional landscape architects have a responsibility to advocate for inclusive processes and the sustainable stewardship of public spaces,” Yi shared in her application. “Through licensure, I aim to deepen my engagement with community stakeholders and help deliver projects that foster environmental health, recreation, and meaningful public experiences.”

The $1,285 award will be distributed in two phases to align with upcoming exam periods, helping to offset application and exam fees as Yi progresses through the licensure process.

MDASLA looks forward to recognizing Yi at an upcoming Emerging Professionals event on April 30, and to continuing to support emerging professionals across the state through this and other initiatives.
