As part of our ongoing efforts to support the Maryland Chapter’s mission and expand access to our programming, the MDASLA Executive Committee has voted to adjust our chapter dues, effective with the 2026 membership cycle.
PROPOSED CHANGES:
Full Member: $90 → $100
Associate Member: $60 → $50
Affiliate Member: $90 → $100
These changes are designed to ensure continued support for our core programs—including licensure advocacy, professional development events, and awards and recognition—while making it easier for emerging professionals to join and stay engaged with the chapter.
Per ASLA ByLaws, all chapters must provide a 45-day member comment period before any dues adjustment can be finalized. We invite you to share your thoughts, questions, or concerns with our Membership Chair, Patrick Whealton, PLA, ASLA, at communications@marylandasla.org.
The last day to provide comments is July 20, 2025.
WHY YOUR DUES MATTER
Your chapter dues power the local work that keeps our profession visible, connected, and protected. Here's just a sample of what your Maryland Chapter membership supports:
Your chapter dues power the local work that keeps our profession visible, connected, and protected. Here's just a sample of what your membership supports:
A dedicated state lobbyist working year-round to protect licensure and advocate for the profession;
Educational and networking opportunities like our Annual Awards Gala, lecture series, and emerging professional events;
Our annual EMBARK publication, celebrating design excellence and chapter highlights;
Local outreach programs, volunteer initiatives, and advocacy campaigns that grow awareness and appreciation for landscape architecture;
And of course, a strong connection to the resources and professional community of National ASLA, including Practice Networks, Landscape Architecture Magazine, and the ability to use the ASLA designation.
For every $1 our members contribute in dues, we return approximately \$1.20 in value directly to the local profession—a 20% return on investment.
We hope you’ll share your feedback with us and continue investing in the strength of our local landscape architecture community.
