President's Letter: July 2026

It's hard to believe we've already reached the halfway point of 2026. While February's Regional Conference and May's Awards Gala are now behind us, the Maryland ASLA Executive Committee is already planning an exciting lineup of events for the months ahead.

Among them are two educational programs organized by our Professional Development & Climate Action Committee: a late-August boat tour of Poplar Island in the Chesapeake Bay and an October tour of the REED Center for Ecosystem Reintegration near Frederick. Together, these ecology-focused experiences will help set the stage for our next Regional Conference in early 2027. We hope you'll be able to join us for one or both of these events.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Independence Day as our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of its founding.

In Fellowship and Service,

Patrick Whealton
