2025 Maryland Chapter Professional Awards

Our Chapter believes strongly in recognizing leaders in our profession, but we need your help in identifying who they are! We're asking our members to consider submitting a nomination for someone in the beginning or middle of their career who is making an impact.  We are also seeking nominations for our prestigious Spencer Ellis Award, given to a person, program, or organization that has made a significant contribution to the preservation and conservation of the local environment in Maryland. If you submit a nomination, we may reach out to you to discuss the nominee further once the nomination period has closed.

Mid-Career Achievement Award

To recognize and celebrate an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary passion and commitment to the profession of landscape architecture, the community, and/or a firm in the State of Maryland; in the middle stage of their professional life (between 15 and 25 years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture).

Spencer Ellis Award

The Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects established the Spencer Ellis Award to honor the service of Spencer P. Ellis to the environment. His career in landscape architecture included work at the Dept. of Natural Resources, Md. State Forests and Parks, the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, and, important to today's occasion, Program Open Space.  The award is given annually to a program or organization that has made a significant contribution to the preservation and conservation of the local environment in Maryland.
